The Christian majority are concerned that if Muslims succeed, the persecution of non-Muslims in Kenya will only intensify.

This demand for (and the spread of) Shari'ah is obligatory. Jihad is often employed to force governments into implementing Shari'ah on Muslims and non-Muslims alike, thus expanding the [[Dar al-Islam]] ('house/domain of Islam'). This, once again, is based on the Sunnah of Muhammad.
