It was put together scholar Abu Dawud Sulayman bin Al''a'sht bin Ishaq bin Bashir Al'Azdi (أبو داود سليمان بن الأشعث بن إسحاق بن بشير الأزدي).'' Abu Dawud was born in Sajistan, an area that today sits in present Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan, in the year 818 AD (202 hijri).
