Good manners (adab) is a wide-ranging topic in Islam and includes behaviour such as greetings, gracious speech, not backbiting nor insulting, and lowering the gaze towards non-mahrams. It is also commonly said to include rituals such as wudu (ablution), and some bodily practices mentioned in a hadith such as circumcision and hair trimming.
