Muhammad disliked those who left Islam.

Here we quote the argument of Muslims in favour of freedom of religion.

"In Bukhari 9:316, Jabir ibn 'Abdullah narrated that a Bedouin accepted Islam and then when he got a fever he demanded that Muhammad to cancel his pledge (allow him to renounce Islam). Muhammad refused to do so. The Bedouin man repeated his demand once, but Muhammad once again refused. Then, he (the Bedouin) left Medina. Muhammad said, "Madinah is like a pair of bellows (furnace): it expels its impurities and brightens and clear its good." In this narration, there was no evidence demonstrating that Muhammad ordered the execution of the Bedouin for wanting to renounce Islam."

The last line is the addition of the Muslim arguers. They are desperate to prove that Muhammad opposed death penalty for leaving Islam. All they have is negative evidence based on assumption i.e. "there was no evidence demonstrating...." But they totally missed out one point. He used a simile to condemn a person leaving Islam.

So many poets sings praises of Muhammad's moral character. If they make sense, he should not have condemned someones choice of religion, faith and belief.

The Muslim attempt to defend a single Bukhari quote is ignorant of other quotes where he ordered the mutilation and bleeding to death of many Bedouins who left Islam and robbed camels of a Muslim. Abu Bakr set an example of following Muhammad when he killed unknown number of ex-Muslims as a caliph.
