Scientific Errors in the Quran: Difference between revisions

The author of the Qur'an repeats a common view of the 7^th century that the earth was a fixed and un-moving object with the stars, sun, and moon revolving around it. The author appears to be unaware that the earth is rotating around its axis and moving through space around the sun. However it could be argued that this is referring to the large scale homogeneity of the universe where everything is expanding from everything but from a stationary spectator's point of view ("a fixed abode") the universe is expanding in all directions.
