In the waswas-avoiding philosophy, you don't gather all information and then make rational conclusions. You gather only information which is in line with Islam, and everything which is not in line with Islam (regardless if it's true and logical) is dismissed. This creates a ''confirmation bias'' in Muslim minds.

EDIT: That is not true. This article writer is generalizing that ALL Muslims think alike and lack critical thinking abilities because we are blinded by our faith. That is not true.

For example, when Muslims try to prove that Allah exists, they often try the creationist argument, that "the world exists, therefore somebody must have created it". And now the question "Who created Allah then?" destroys their argument. But their argument was in line with Islam and this counter-argument is against Islam, so the first one continues to be widely accepted, but the counter-argument is dismissed as "waswas":

EDIT: The question around "Who created Allah?" - well, Allah tells us Himself in the Quran - He was not created and neither can he be destroyed (like energy in physics). Two of Allahs names are Al-Awwal (the first) and Al-Akhir (the last). Also, here the article writer is thinking of Allah in terms of HUMAN LOGIC! When Allah is being who CANNOT be understood by human logic alone.
Also, attacking the source of counter-arguments, instead of actually analyzing and refuting them is a logical ''[[W:Ad hominem|ad hominem]]'' fallacy.

Plus, the article writer is imposing the attributes of TIME (a human invention) on Allah. Allah is eternal. The human mind is incapable of grasping what eternity actually means. Much less understand the nature of Allah.
Infinity is a concept mathematicians have difficulty with today as well!
I laugh at people who dismiss the existence of Allah, using only the extent of human logic and understanding.

You cannot anthropomorphize Allah! Please stop doing that! Humans can be so arrogant. May Allah have mercy on us.

Also if Allah created everything, then he created waswas. If he created waswas to test Muslims whether they are good enough Muslims, then the whole concept stops making sense, because why would he test them, when he is all-knowing and already knows the results? As we can see, when we consider the waswas concept together with other Islamic concepts like all-knowingness and testing belivers, it all stops making sense.

EDIT: Wrong way to look at this. We do have choices - Allah knows the outcome of each of our choices - the choice we DO end up making, THAT is solely our own decision!
Like parallel realities … duh!
Allah knows all the parallels - hence why He is All-Knowing.
And please, when the Quran was first revealed - it would be another 1300 years or so before Freud was born - so like you can't use modern stuff to argue against an ancient and simplistic text - sent down for the people of a certain time, with a certain understanding.

The Islamic treatment of waswas via exorcism is not efficient. The easiest way to get rid of "waswas" is to leave Islam and realize that there is no "waswas" and doubts are just a natural part of how the human brain works.

EDIT: This is a very short-sighted and biased article. Neither informative nor useful. Baseless arguments, with no deep thought or understanding or vision. Shallow.
I just hear a very disappointed and bitter person - who was probably hurt by Islam or Muslims in some way.
