WikiIslam:Sandbox/Positive Teachings in Islam
There are many teachings in Islamic texts that can be considered positive, but most of these are either commonsense or negated by preconditions or more prominent, contradictory teachings.
- "(Charity is) for those in need, who, in Allah's cause are restricted (from travel), and cannot move about in the land, seeking (For trade or work):" - Quran 2:273
- "O you who believe! do not take your fathers and your brothers for guardians if they love unbelief more than belief; and whoever of you takes them for a guardian, these it is that are the unjust." - Quran 9:23
- "It is not fitting, for the Prophet and those who believe, that they should pray for forgiveness for Pagans, even though they be of kin, after it is clear to them that they are companions of the Fire. And Abraham prayed for his father's forgiveness only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became clear to him that he was an enemy to God, he dissociated himself from him: for Abraham was most tender-hearted, forbearing." - Quran 9:113-114
