Notes sur la traduction de l'article Pedophilia in the Qur'an:

Lorsqu'il est écrit : « It is possible to turn this noun into its verb form. Like we do it with menstruation, "menstruate" is YAHIDH » Je n'ai traduit que : « Il est possible de transformer ce nom en une forme verbale. "Avoir ses règles" se dit YAHIÐ. ».

Notes on the translation of the article Pedophilia in the Qur'an:

I have tried to do my best. When there was a need of further searches, I have looked on the Internet. For most translations of the Qur'an, where the English version uses Yusuf Ali, I used Muhammad Hamidullah, copied from my personal edition of his translation. When there was a need of more than one translation, I preferred the translation of Claude Savary, although it dates from 1783. I had thought to use only two translations, but then added as many translations as there were in the English article, because I did not want the French version to be any weaker than the English one. As a third translator I have chosen Hisnulmuslim, a website about Islam written in French. As it has been done especially for Muslims, I think it contains less "Westernization" or veiling of the meaning of the verses. This choice has satisfied me as, for example, the choices of the translators in how they differ has been similar in English and French. For the excerpts from the Bible I have used my own Bible (like I used my own Qur'an for French translations) which is a Standard Jerusalem Bible.

As for the transliteration, I took the initiative to adapt it to the French norm of transliteration. A thing I have introduced is the short "a" being between brackets. I have not changed the transliteration when the original Arabic text was not available.

Some references to features of the English language that do not exist in French have been impossible to translate, and thus I didn't translate them. For example as the verb "to menstruate" doesn't exist in French when it is written : "It is possible to turn this noun into its verb form. Like we do it with menstruation, "menstruate" is YAHIDH" I have just translated the part that reads : "It is possible to turn this noun into its verb form. Menstruate is YAHIÐ." I hope you will not blame me for this. I have added some comments (not many) on the characteristics of the French language related to the topic or Arabic words in the verses.

I have had minor translation difficulties. I have always tried to look up the correct and most appropriate words in dictionaries. All these efforts have been made with the aim of providing the best French translation of this article possible. It may not be perfect and I hope that future improvements are made. I hope you will be satisfied.
