The Ka'aba (الكعبة) is the holiest mosque in Islam and is known (figuratively) as the "House of God". Islam teaches that Abraham built the Ka'aba when he "binded" Ishmael" (a legend inspired by, though slightly different from, the Binding of Isaac). Later, Muslims would take the Temple Mount and build The Al-Aqsa Mosque and The Dome of The Rock.

The Ka'aba was flooded by 5 feet of water in 1941. (more pictures)

Islam teaches that the black stone in The Ka'aba was a gift from Allah to Adam. The black stone is a meteorite. Prior to Islam, it was the center of Pre-Islamic Arabian pagan lunar worship.

The word yoni is the Sanskrit word for “divine passage”, “place of birth”, “womb” (more as nature as a womb and cradle of all creations) or “sacred temple” (cf. lila). The word also has a wider meaning in both profane and spiritual contexts, covering a range of meanings of “place of birth, source, origin, spring, fountain, place of rest, repository, receptacle, seat, abode, home, lair, nest, stable” (Monier-Williams). In classical texts such as Kama Sutra, yoni refers to vagina. It was a place where various deities were worshiped by the pagan Arabs.

Among these deities were Allah [1] as well as his daughters Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, and Manat . According to the Encyclopaedia Britannica, the Ka'aba had 360 images. Traditional accounts mention that one of the deities among the 360 destroyed when the place was stormed, was that of Saturn; another was of the Moon and yet another was one called Allah. It is evident that, among others, the Arabs worshiped the nine planets in pre-Islamic days at the Ka'aba shrine. In India the practice of ‘Navagraha’ puja, that is worship of the nine planets, is still in vogue. Two of these nine are Saturn and Moon. In India the crescent moon is always painted across the forehead of the Siva symbol. It is speculate that since symbol was associated with the Siva emblem in the Ka'aba, Muslims later adopted the symbol.
